Hermès Clou d’H Left Single Ear Cuff
$7,300.00The story behind
In 1837, within the walls of his workshop at 56 rue Basse-du-Rempart, Thierry Hermès crafted a collection of breathtaking harnesses, each one a true masterpiece intended for the Maison’s first clientele: horses. Fast forward to 1927 and it was no surprise that Hermès drew inspiration from the equestrian realm to bring its first piece of jewelry to life, the coveted Filet de Selle bracelet. With a nod to the world of horse riding, the shapes of galloping horse heads, harnesses, bits, and dog collars gracefully emerge, their forms and contours paying homage to the Maison’s roots.

This story began in 1938, when Robert Dumas, a member of the Hermès family, decided to take inspiration from a ship anchor chain to design a bracelet. Thus the Chaîne d’ancre was born: a naturally balanced jewel with a sporty yet chic allure. The links of the chain – polished, circular-grained or twisted – play on shapes and volumes to bring forth a multitude of necklaces, rings, earrings and bracelets.

Chaine d’ancre Bracelet, Large Model
$14,700.00The story behind
In 1937, Robert Dumas watched boats as he strolled along the Normandy coast. The anchor chains that held them in place caught his eye and inspired the shape of the iconic Chaine d’ancre motif. This exemplifies the “intelligence of the eye” and the harmonious balance between practicality and beauty that is quintessential to the Hermès philosophy.
It was in 1938 when the Maison ventured into uncharted waters and crafted the first silver Chaine d’ancre bracelet. Since then, this motif has been an endless source of inspiration, undergoing a plethora of interpretations, utilizing various materials and shapes, all while preserving its essence. -
